History of Motorcycle Racing (Volume 2)
This is the second volume of the definitive history of one of the worldI?s most exciting sports. Award-winning motorcycle film producer, David Wood, utilises his extensive archive, plus material from scores of other sources, modern day interviews and race coverage, to present an unsurpassed, entertaining and historically significant record of motorcycle racing. In Birth of the Grand Prix, we trace the 40-year history of World Championship motorcycle racing. The works teams of Norton, Gilera, Moto Guzzi, MV Augusta, BMW, AJS and others are featured during the glorious 1950s when up to twenty multi-cylindered four-stroke machines would be on the grid at a GP. Then two-strokes arrived on the scene and soon had to be taken seriously as the sights and sounds at the Grand Prix circuits of the world changed. The Japanese Arrival includes footage of early Japanese appearances in Europe and features for example, the 20,000rpm 50cc racers that screamed around the TT course in the early 1960s, the fabulous 250cc Honda Six ridden by Mike Hailwood, the 125 and 250 V4 Yamahas ridden by Ivy and Read and many more racing marvels. The post-war growth of the Japanese motorcycle industry and their eventual domination of the road racing scene is outlined.
History of Motorcycle Racing (Volume 3)
This is the third volume of the definitive history of one of the world's most exciting sports. Award-winning motorcycle film producer, David Wood, utilises his extensive archive, plus material from scores of other sources, modern day interviews and race coverage, to present an unsurpassed, entertaining and historically significant record of motorcycle racing. In The Other Champions, we cover racing classes other than the Blue Riband 500cc championship, i.e. the lightweights from 50cc to 350cc, and of course, those modern day charioteers, the sidecar racers. All of these classes have had many worthy champions over the years - several of whom are featured in this episode. Pressure, Money & The Need to Win, our final part, profiles the advent of the ultra-professional approach to motorcycle racing which has produced a new breed of rider who have to be as committed to the commercial aspects of the sport as they are to winning races. The trend is made clear as we hear from one of the first riders who presented himself as a TV personality - Barry Sheene. Then, as action footage unfolds, we speak to several 1980s stars whose highly professional approach epitomised the sport; Kenny Roberts, Freddie Spencer, Wayne Gardner and Kevin Schwantz to name but a few.

John Reynolds: The Autobiography

He retired in October 2005 after suffering serious injuries in a horrific 140mph crash. Now fully recovered, he says that motorcycle racing didn't nearly kill him, but rather it saved his life. This paperback edition of the best-selling inspirational story tells of Reynolds' personal battle against adversity and how he kept his feet firmly grounded in reality during his rise to stardom as one of the most popular motorcycle racers of the modern era.

MotoGP 2005 Official Review
2005 was a season of firsts; new GPs in the USA, China and Turkey as well as a maiden GP win for Marco Melandri, who finished second overall in an impressive rise through the rankings from his 2004 final standing of 10th place. He and Troy Bayliss began their first season with Honda with high hopes of championship success, alongside Colin Edwards' debut with Yamaha and Carlos Checa's with Ducati.
This year also signalled important goodbyes - to Neil Hodgson who moved to the AMA Superbike Championship and team Aprilia, which withdrew from MotoGP competition.
Alongside changes in line-up, new rules added to the excitement of this year's championship. Fuel tank capacity was reduced from 24 to 22 litres, and a new weather rule insisted that riders were not to stop in the rain unless whiteflagged - all of which pushed riders abilities even further, resulting in 17 action-packed, highly entertaining rounds, all captured by trackside and on-bike cameras.
If it's action and speed you're looking for, look no further than this official MotoGP review - nothing else comes close!
MotoGP 2011 Official Review
Major rider line-up changes promised the 2011 MotoGP World Championship would be a spectacular end to the 800cc era, and the thrilling elbow-to-elbow racing delivered a spectacular season of action and drama.
Reigning World Champion Jorge Lorenzo was joined by Ben Spies at the Yamaha squad after MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi switched to Ducati, while Casey Stoner departed the Italian team to race for Honda. As the teams arrived at Qatar, the scene was set for 18 stunning rounds.
The Official Review features action from every race, with stunning footage, interviews and comprehensive coverage of the defining moments of the year.
Rossi struggled to get to grips with his Ducati, but Stoner was soon at home on his Honda RC212V, finding a form which would carry him to 10 victories and a second MotoGP World Championship. The challenge from Lorenzo was ended by a terrible finger injury, while Honda's Dani Pedrosa again saw his title hopes halted by a collarbone fracture.
Stoner dominated the results, but only after some of the most thrilling racing of the 800cc era, even the very last race of the year was decided by only 0.015 of a second!
The Official Review is filled with action from every meeting, and all the essential highlights, including Spies's maiden MotoGP victory, Pedrosa's amazing return to race-winning form in Japan and the end of one of the sport's longest careers, as Loris Capirossi rode his 328th and final Grand Prix.
The Official Review also pays tribute to Marco Simoncelli, the Italian superstar who tragically lost his life in a racing crash early in the Malaysian Grand Prix, a remarkable talent, and much-missed racer.
Bonus features include a fascinating interview with 2011 MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner, complete on-board laps of all 18 world championship circuits and a collection of the best images from throughout the 2011 season.
MotoGP in Camera: The Official Portrait of the 990cc Era
MotoGP is the top class of motorcycle racing, the two-wheeled equivalent of Formula 1. It arrived in 2002 to replace the old 500cc GP class, and the big Japanese and Italian factories all fielded 990cc four-strokes. The bikes developed so rapidly that engine capacity was reduced to 800cc after just five years.
This book records those five seasons through the lenses of the sport's finest photographers. It is a year-by-year record of the racing as well as a collection of truly amazing photos arranged to illustrate all aspects of the sport. Julian Ryder, British Eurosport's MotoGP commentator and the author of the annual "MotoGP Season Review," has selected the images and written the accompanying commentary.
