American Iron Magazine Presents 1001 Harley-Davidson Facts: Covers 1903 to Present
When anyone thinks of motorcycling, whether they are enthusiasts or only casually interested, the name Harley-Davidson immediately comes to mind. Harley-Davidson is among the oldest surviving motorcycle manufacturers; the company began in 1903 and continues to this day. As you can imagine, over the course of more than 100 years, the company has seen prosperous times as well as lean times, changes in focus and direction, evolution and revolution. All of that leads to a lot of company history and trivia.
American Iron Magazine associate editor Tyler Greenblatt has compiled 1,001 Harley-Davidson facts into this single volume, with subjects ranging from the historic powertrains to pop culture to Harley-Davidson as a company and manufacturer. Facts begin with the early years, when a motorcycle was not much more than a bicycle with an engine attached, to the war efforts of World War I, when 15,000 were put into service. During the 1920s, Harley-Davidson grew into the largest manufacturer in the world, and that momentum helped carry it through the Great Depression and into World War II. Postwar development and AMF ownership are also covered in detail, as well as the restructuring and revival of the brand in recent years.
Whether you're a casual rider, racer, or restorer, Harley-Davidson enthusiasts will be sure to find something in this book for that next conversation with fellow hobbyists. This book will keep Harley-Davidson enthusiasts entertained for hours, and is a great edition to any motorcycling library.

BMW Racing Motorcycles: The Mastery of Speed
Here is the intriguing story of one of the world's most admired and enduring motorcycle companies, and how their fortunes were molded by a determination to win races. Early in the last century, the fledgling company decided to test its products, demonstrate the quality of its designs, and showcase German technology by winning competitions. That determination has lasted to this day, as BMW has remained a formidable competitor in various venues of motorcycle racing. The book covers the company's early mutation from aircraft engine builder to producer of reliable, high-quality motorcycles. Its development of supercharged engines, advanced suspension systems, and many other innovations led to its dominance of various race competitions at different times, with many of those technologies making their way into production motorcycles. BMWs have long been known for reliability and endurance; it is precisely those characteristics which gave the company the deciding advantage in sidecar racing, endurance competitions, and Superbike racing.

BMW: The Racing Story
The BMW racing story is a fascinating tale of persistence and reward. Though initially unsuccessful in competition, the flat-twin-powered BMW motorcycle was steadily developed until it became a machine to be reckoned with. In 1939 the ultimate was achieved when Georg Meir won the Senior TT. After the War, BMW maintained a high profile on the Grand Prix scene winning no fewer than nineteen world titles from the mid-1950s to the mid-1970s in sidecar racing. But BMW: The Racing Story covers much more, including the American scene, the K-series four-cylinder, the four valve twins of the early 1990s and, finally, the great successes gained by the F650-based single in the European and British Supermono series.

BSA was once the largest - and most successful - motorcycle company in the world. Many of the most famous Beezas were powered by twin-cylinder engines, in both vee and parallel configurations. During the interwar years BSA built a series of side-valve and overhead valve v-twins in 500, 750 and 1000cc. After the Second World War, BSA built a family of vertical twins in 500cc [A7] and 650cc [A10] guises. Their names bring back fond memories: Star Twin, Shooting star, Golden Flash, Road Rocket, Super Rocket and the magnificent Rocket Gold Star.
