British Leyland: The Cars, 1968-1986
In 1968, British Leyland brought together most of Britain's motor manufacturers, with the intention of creating a robust unified group that could equal the strength of the big European conglomerates. But this was not to be. There have been many books about the politics and the business activities of British Leyland, but British Leyland - The Cars, 1968 - 1986 looks deliberately at the cars that came from the company. The eighteen years of the corporation's existence saw a confusing multitude of different car types, but this book resolves these confusions, clarifying who built what, and when. The book takes 1986 as its cut-off because this was the year that the old British Leyland ceased to exist and what was left of the car and light commercial business was renamed the Rover Group. Topics covered include the production histories and technical specifications of every major model; special overseas models; appendices on engines, code names and factories and finally, classic buying guidance is given on the models built in Britain.

British Microcars 1947-2002
From the 1940s to the 1960s, the microcar posed a challenge to the large companies that mass-produced cars to uniform designs. The microcar was the opposite, produced by small entrepreneurial start-ups using quirky design concepts that offered motorists cheaper and more economical vehicles. This book is a beautifully illustrated history of the British microcar, from the early days of Bond and Reliant to the proliferation of micro marques during the 1950s and their demise during the 1960s. It explores many eccentric British concepts, comparing the cars to their influential European competitors, examining the social and economic reasons for the decline and disappearance of the microcar, but also saluting the signs of a microcar renaissance in the twenty-first century, this time from mainstream manufacturers.

British Military Land Rovers: Leaf-sprung Land Rovers in British Military Service
The British military has always been one of the major customers for Land Rovers, buying thousands upon thousands over the years. Land Rover in turn has returned the compliment, developing special models to meet its needs, such as the Half-Ton or Lightweight and the 101 One-Tonne Forward Control.
Yet the British military Land Rover has always been special in its own way, particularly after 1961 when the basic specification was modified to incorporate elements that were never made available on contemporary civilian models. It has been modified and adapted in dozens of ways for its military role, the basic GS soft-top utility and FFR 24-volt radio models being supplemented by a wide variety of specialist variants that remain little known even today.
This hugely comprehensive book looks at the story of the leaf-sprung Land Rovers used by all three of Britain's armed services - the Army, the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force. It lists and describes the different types, setting them in their context both as products of the Rover (and later, Land Rover) companies and as military equipment designed to meet a particular need at a particular time. There are copious illustrations, many never published before, and the lists of the vehicles themselves are as exhaustive as the authors have been able to make them in the light of surviving records.
British Military Land Rovers aims to cover every leaf-sprung type in use between the first deliveries in 1948 and the final ones in 1985 - by which time the core Land Rover product no longer depended on leaf springs but on a more modern coil-spring suspension design. It will be welcomed by the military-vehicle and the Land Rover enthusiast alike as the most detailed book yet published about the subject.

BRM: A Mechanic’s Tale
This is the story as told by a man who was both a devoted fan and a loyal team member of British Racing Motors. It culminates in the ultimate honor in 1962, when, in East London, South Africa, Graham Hill drove the BRM to victory to win both the drivers World Championship and the Constructors Championship for the BRM team, thereby making a considerable contribution to British motor racing history.

Buick: 1946-1960 Photo Archive
This new book highlights General Motors oldest division during some of its most successful and exciting years, 1946 through 1960. When World War II ended in 1945, Buick was champing at the bit to forge ahead in the sales race with its reputation for size, prestige and straight eight-cylinder power in every model. By 1954, Buick succeeded in reaching third place in sales, ahead of Plymouth. But after a few heady years among the sales leaders, some unfortunate styling decisions in 1957 and 1958 would topple Buick from the leadership pedestal. Share these heady days of growth and success for an American automotive icon with superb quality original factory photos from the time when Buick was one of America's most popular automobiles. Relive the arrival of 'ventiports', Dynaflow drive, sweep spears of chrome, and all of the other Buick trademarks that became part of the American lexicon.

Buick: Performance Portfolio 1947-1962
The early post war Buicks retained early-40s styling but this had changed by 1950. These years were very successful years even if the products were not always at the leading edge of technology, performance or styling. The Dynaflow automatic transmission was ordered on some 85% of all new Buicks by 1951 although the overhead-valve V8 was not introduced until 1953. After the chrome-and-fins era in 1958 the early 1960s produced some well proportioned cars. In this compilation of road tests, driving impressions, specification and performance data, and model introductions the cars covered are: Dynaflow Buicks, 50-series Super, Roadmaster 41, Super Riviera V8, Century, Century Special, Roadmaster Special, Special Estate Wagon, Century Hardtop, Limited, Invicta, Electra, Electra 225, Le Sabre, Special, Skylark, Wildcat.

Building 4.6/5.4L Ford Horsepower on the Dyno
The 4.6- and 5.4-liter modular Ford engines are finally catching up with the legendary 5.0L in terms of aftermarket support and performance parts availability. Having a lot of parts to choose from is great for the enthusiast, but it can also make it harder to figure out what parts and modifications will work best. Building 4.6/5.4L Ford Horsepower on the Dyno takes the guesswork out of modification and parts selection by showing you the types of horsepower and torque gains expected by each modification. Author Richard Holdener uses over 340 photos and 185 back-to-back dyno graphs to show you which parts increase horsepower and torque, and which parts don't deliver on their promises. Unlike sources that only give you peak numbers and gains, Building 4.6/5.4L Ford Horsepower on the Dyno includes complete before-and-after dyno graphs, so you can see where in the RPM range these parts make (or lose) the most horsepower and torque. Holdener covers upgrades for 2-, 3-, and 4-valve modular engines, with chapters on throttle bodies and inlet elbows, intake manifolds, cylinder heads, camshafts, nitrous oxide, supercharging, turbocharging, headers, exhaust systems, and complete engine buildups.

Building a MINI Operations Manual: 2001 onwards (all models)
In 2015, MINI Plant Oxford produced over 201,000 cars, and with a workforce of around 4,500 people, the plant is capable of building up to 1,000 cars per day. Plant Oxford is the home of MINI assembly, with body panels arriving from Plant Swindon, and engines from Plant Hams Hall, near Birmingham.
The body panels are joined by automated robots to produce a 'body in white' which then progresses through the factory to the paint shop, before being mated with engine, suspension, interior panels, trim, etc, to produce the finished car.
This Manual takes a look inside a modern, heavily automated car factory, where every car produced is bespoke, having been built specially to fulfil an individual customer's order. A fascinating insight into the processes, equipment and people involved behind the scenes in building a MINI, from initial design studies and 'body-in-white' metal panels, to completed car on the way to its new owner.

C3 Corvette: How to Build & Modify 1968-1982
The C3 Corvette's swooping fenders and unmistakable body style capture the imagination and make it an enduring classic. About a half-million Corvettes were sold between 1968 and 1982, and the unique combination of Shark style, handling, and V-8 performance is revered. Some early C3s, built between 1968 and 1974, are simply too rare and valuable to be modified, particularly the big-block cars. The later Corvettes, built from 1975 to 1982, came with low-compression engines that produced anemic performance. The vast majority of these Corvettes are affordable, plentiful, and the ideal platform for a high-performance build.
Corvette expert, high-performance shop owner, and builder Chris Petris shows how to transform a mundane C3 into an outstanding high-performance car. Stock Corvettes of this generation carry antiquated brakes, steering, suspension, and anemic V-8 engines with 165 to 220 hp. He covers the installation of top-quality aftermarket suspension components, LS crate engines, big brakes, frame upgrades, and improved driveline parts. The book also includes popular upgrades to every component group, including engine, transmission, differential, suspension, steering, chassis, electrical system, interior, tires, wheels, and more.
Whether you are mildly modifying your Corvette for greater comfort and driveability or substantially modifying it for vastly improved acceleration, braking, and handling, this book has insightful instruction to help you reach your goals. No other book provides as many popular how-to projects to comprehensively transform the C3 Corvette into a 21st-century sports car.
