Jaguar/Daimler XJ: The Essential Buyer’s Guide
The X300 was the first serious model development in collaboration with Ford and the cars benefited in quality terms as a result. Problems do exist, however, especially with the X308 models which followed in 1997. Though they are excellent value today, it is still important to buy the right car if expensive problems are to be avoided. This book will help you decide which car to consider and having chosen your model it will help pick a sound car from among those you locate and inspect. High mileage need not be a deterrent but you need to avoid neglected cars and know exactly what to look for. This book ensures you have the insight and expertise to select the best example within your budget. Each aspect of the vehicles is given an objective numerical score reflecting the car's condition. These are added to give an overall score supporting a decision to buy or leave. There is no safer way to avoid buying a bad car short of paying for a professional evaluation. This book will pay for itself.

Jaguar/Daimler XJ40: The Essential Buyer’s Guide
The XJ40 had a long development history and underwent sophisticated and thorough testing on several continents. Featuring an array of high-tech features such as a digital dashboard, it drove superbly and won the UK's prestigious 'Car of the Year' award. Most early cars have gone to the crusher by now, and those that remain are of variable quality. Even the last XJ40s are now 14 years old and can suffer terminal decline. For the careful buyer, however, they represent true bargain luxury cars, provided you buy a good example. This book will help you pick a sound car and avoid the depressing experience of buying a superficially pretty XJ40, which turns out to have serious problems through neglect or wear. It takes you step by step through your initial viewing and a more detailed inspection, where each aspect of the car is given an objective numerical score reflecting its condition, with the total overall score supporting your decision to buy or walk away. There is no safer way to avoid buying a bad car short of paying for a professional evaluation.

SS & Jaguar Cars: 1 1/2 Litre, 2 1/2 Litre, 3 1/2 Litre, SS100 & Mark V, 1936-1951
Following on from his book S.S.I and S.S.II Cars, Allan Crouch details the models that succeeded them: the 1½ and 2½ Litre of 1936-37, the SS100 sports car, the1½, 2½ and 3½ Litre of 1938-48, and the Mark V of 1948-51. Apart from the 1½ Litres, what was common to these cars was the six-cylinder engine, based on a Standard sidevalve unit for which Harry Weslake designed an overhead-valve cylinder head giving very respectable power outputs. Combined with flowing body styling inspired by William Lyons himself, the result was some strikingly attractive and desirable cars, at extraordinarily keen prices. Here the development and evolution of the range are described, complete with competition history, production figures and specifications, all accompanied by 250 colour photographs and 80 black-and-white images from the archives.

The Iconic Jaguar XK: A Celebration of 120s, 140s and 150s
What inspires long-term XK ownership and enthusiasm? Surely, there can only be one answer: the cars themselves. The author and his wife launched a dedicated XK Club in 1997, just in time for the 50th anniversary one year later. Now, the venerable XK 120 has reached another milestone with its 65th anniversary. Between these covers, the author presents a mix of features including 120s, 140s, and 150s, plus the C- and D-Types, which the factory always termed XK 120C and XK 120D (and occasionally XK 140D). A few of the articles are reprinted from the early issues of the XK Gazette, the XK Club magazine, but are now in color; expanded, redesigned and, mainly, updated. Let's not be bashful: XKs are great cars. They achieved so much in their time, and continue to achieve much today. Could there be a better advertisement for a classic sports car, a better testimonial to their greatness? This book is no mere flirtation but a full-blooded love affair with these vehicles, our stimulating, rewarding, and beguiling mistresses
