Car and Driver (May 1981)
Car and Driver is an American automotive enthusiast magazine. Car and Driver is notable for its irreverent tone and habit of "telling it like it is," especially with regard to underperforming automobiles. The magazine also frequently delves into controversial issues, especially in regard to politics. The editorial slant of the magazine is decidedly pro-automobile. However, the intrusion of politics into editorial columns rarely intrudes into reviews of cars themselves or feature articles. For example, the columnists have been highly critical of SUVs on the basis that minivans or car-based utes are almost always better, more drivable choices.

De Lorean Gold Portfolio 1977-1995
From a motoring enthusiastÂ’s point, the sports car which former Pontiac supremo John De Lorean drew up to sell to Americans was a fascinating machine. The gullwing doors lost appeal when electrical failures prevented them from opening & the unpainted stainless steel body panels proved far from stainless in practice. However, the Giugiaro design is still attractive and with only around 4,000 cars built still attracts attention. This is a book of contemporary road & comparison tests, technical and specification data, engineering background, history, De Lorean interview, and company history.

The DeLorean Story: The Car, the People, the Scandal
This is the inside story of the DeLorean saga written by a senior manager who worked with the company from beginning to end and saw it all. The short life of the DeLorean DMC-12 sports car --- a vision of the future with its gullwing doors and stainless steel body --- began after John DeLorean secured financial backing from the British government for his car-making venture in Northern Ireland. Four years and nearly 9,000 cars later the company went bust and DeLorean faced questions about fraud against the British taxpayer, and his big ally, Colin Chapman of Lotus, also drew scrutiny. As an insider's account, this book contains a great deal of new information about the DeLorean scandal.
